Mix 1 tsp kojic acid powder (for a 1-2% solution) with 4-8 oz water-based lotions and serums, and allow to dissolve completely.
Kojic acid powder dissolves in aqueous based solutions (water-based lotions and serums) but will not dissolve in oil based solutions (such as heavy creams). To facilitate dissolution, kojic acid can be first dissolved in warm water, or you can heat the mixed lotion to approximated 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
It can oxidize and lose some of its activity if put into water above 40℃（104℉）. Kojic acid has the tendency to oxidize over time, it is good to use vitamin E tocopherol or BHT in the cream to reduce oxidation. We recommend you prepare in small batch and use it within 2 weeks.
Patch test on a small clean area of skin, and wait for 24 hours before general use. Discontinue if redness or irritation occurs.
