Occlusion therapy, commonly called patching, is the treatment for an Amblyopic or ‘lazy’ eye. The patch is made from felt material that is soft, non toxic and safe to use next to the skin. Lined with black hypoallergenic material for maximum light occlusion and comfort. Shaped to repeat the contour of the eye area to provide the best coverage. Recommended by ophthalmologists The patch fits outside the glasses frame. How does it work? By covering up the good eye you are encouraging your child’s brain to use the lazy eye and the vision should improve. You are in fact stimulating the brain cells corresponding to the lazy eye, this then causes the brain cells to develop and hence the vision should improve.
