前言：用药如用兵。太公曰：未见形而战，败之道。病亦有形。形乎形，工独见，形就是病在脏象经络间的情状。先战而后求胜，败之道也。用药不能抱着试一试的心态，没把握、无胜算就用兵，反为所乘。必须先胜而后求战。可见，学兵法就是学医，将会自然暗合于医。试述如下：
一、庙算太极
要知病者之情，明病势与正气之优劣胜败，而立一周全完整的对治方案。思考得越周密，就越有主心骨。兵者，死生之地，存亡之道，不可不察也。良医活人，庸医杀人，也是生死存亡之事。医贵与病者两神合一。病不许治，病必不治。将不听吾计，去之。
二、阴阳持枢
治病也要贵拙速，不贵巧久，不然会反变。或者渐渐药不胜病，或者病势与药力迁延，久耗精气，而致坏症。只要是攻病，必须作此虑，一鼓作气，再鼓衰，三鼓竭。凡是需要用持久战的，都是沉疴或正气极弱，得药援助也不足以平之，只能借于主客地位谋求国胜，这时慎无益其病势，而必培正图强，《脾胃论》则其理。
三、三才人谋
人谋为本。医生就是将领，而病人的精气就是兵马，药物就是武装。兵马之命悬于将手。病人的体质状况只是兵马雄壮与否，关键是将之谋略。庸将乱军毁国，庸医乱身杀人。先要立医略制胜之心，而不能见病人好就武进，见病人坏就萎靡。强者可以使弱，弱者可以使强，胜在将谋。凡治病，不得以病太久为托词。无论新病久病，都有一个病势，新可败之，久也可败之，在于谋攻是否得当。所以对于病势而言，无新旧一说，只有轻重虚实之别。轻有轻的治谋，重有重的对策，谋得一朝都除。上兵伐谋，不战而屈人之兵。夺病之资粮、政令地位，就能让病无用武之地，自然降服。很多时候用阴阳五行的生克承制关系就能办到这一点，不攻邪而邪自尽。
其次伐交，使病失其助与，孤立之，防范之，则病势屈。其下攻城，西医一路杀灭、手术之路。攻城日久，兵老师疲，国内空虚，必遭反噬。以谋为本之攻病，先有制胜之大略，则其胜于病简易。人只知其胜病之形，却不知其有制胜，无所容其病势之变化逃遁。
