随着中医的国际传播和发展，中医翻译已经逐步实现了统一化和标准化，这为气功学术语翻译规范化的实现奠定了基础。《汉英气功学大辞典》根据《易经》《黄帝内经》、道家、儒家和佛家的基本理论以及《中国气功辞典》的相关内容，选择了7000余条气功术语、词语和名言，对每个术语、词语和名言进行汉英双解释义。按照每个术语的实际含义，先用现代汉语进行解释和说明，再按照中医名词术语国际标准化发展的基本原则和方法翻译为英文，双语释义便于国内外学者了解和掌握。本辞典是对气功学基本概念、术语和用语的*次系统、完整、准确的翻译，可供从事中医学、气功学教育、对外交流等工作的读者阅读参考。
李照国，上海师范大学外国语学院院长，教授，英语语言文学学士、语言学与应用语言学硕士、中医学博士、翻译学博士后。现为上海市政协委员，世界中医药联合会翻译专业委员会会长，国家中华思想文化术语传播工程专家委员会委员，国家科技名词术语审定委员会中医委员会委员，《中西医结合学报》常务编委及专栏撰稿人。先后撰写出版《中医英语翻译研究》等研究著作27部，翻译出版《黄帝内经》等译著25部，撰写出版《月落闲阁》等杂文集5部，在国内外学术刊物上发表研究论文160余篇。目前承担着国家社科项目、国家中医药管理局项目、上海市*科技创新重点项目、上海市*重点课程建设项目的研究工作和上海师范大学重点学科建设项目。

为了真正全面恢复中华文化，继承和发展气功学亦至为必要。正是为了全面恢复中华文化，我们才比较完整准确地分析总结了气功学的传统理论和方法，并在《黄帝内经》和吕光荣主编的《中国气功辞典》等的基础上，确定了气功术语的内涵和定义，并按照中医国际传播和发展的基本原则和方法，将其翻译为英文，为对外传播和发展中医与中华文化而开辟了一条蹊径。
