中国钢结构协会是由中国钢结构行业的企事业单位和科学家,工程技术专家,企业家自愿组成具有法人地位的全国性行业经济技术团体,组建于1984年6月。协会由原冶金、建设、石油、化工、机械、船舶、电力、铁道、交通、航空等十余个部委、总公司下属的设计、研究、制造、安装、钢铁生产厂等2600余个团体会员单位组成。协会管理登记在中华人民共和国民政部,主管单位为国务院国有资产监督管理委员会。主要负责调查研究本行业国内外基本情况、技术发展、市场变化,了解行业在发展中存在的问题。组织收集整理经营、管理、经济、技术等信息,经政府有关部门授权,依照有关规定编制年度行业调查报告,为企业和政府提供咨询服务。向政府有关部门反映企业诉求,争取政策方面的支持。
