阿列克·伊万诺维奇·普鲁金，1926年生于莫斯科，1948年毕业于莫斯科建筑学院。曾在弗拉基米尔、苏兹达利、卡鲁科以及莫斯科的许多地区，组织领导研究了这些地区550多个文物古迹建筑。1963年因在古迹文物建筑修复中应用超声波控制方法而获得建筑科学博士学位。
普鲁金教授1980～1985年曾任苏联*的文物建筑保护与修复研究院院长。普鲁金教授突出贡献之一是他于1991年在莫斯科创建了世界上所高等修复学校，1993年组织创立了俄罗斯个修复科学院，为修复专业人员教育提供了广泛的教学课程。
普鲁金教授在文物古迹建筑保护与修复领域发表了140多篇学术著作，曾在苏联、波兰、意大利、印度、德国等国家发表，这些著作包括《城市与文物古迹建筑》、《建筑与历史环境》等书。
普鲁金教授是苏联建筑师协会的资深会员，而且曾先后担任苏联吉建筑保护协会副主席、主席之职位达十年之久。他还是俄罗斯文物古迹建筑保护中心委员会成员，文化部科学方法委员会成员，俄罗斯人文科学院院士，联合国吉建保护协会俄罗斯分会副主席，并且荣任多家博物馆的艺术委员。
