黄元庆,1942年出生于江苏省常熟市,1964年毕业于南京艺术学院美术系。东华大学服装艺术设计学院教授,曾任副院长。国际流行色协会中国首任代表、曾任中国流行色协会理事、中国服装设计学会理事、《中国纺织美术》副主编、中国家纺设计师协会高评委,上海美术家协会、水彩画家协会会员。从事纺织图案设计、服装设计教学及研究四十多年。曾获纺织图案设计一等奖、全国纺织品设计成绩表彰、钱之光教育奖。出版了《服装色彩学》、《时装设计入门》、《色彩构成》、《印染图案艺术设计》、《建筑风景钢笔画技法》等十多本著作、教材,并获奖。美术作品多次在外展出、出版、获奖,并被博物馆、私人收藏。
